We spent today at Bali Life Orphanage again and it was a great day. Please read the teams comments and thoughts below…
- What a great day – hard slog – bricks again, but so fulfilling to see the results of our team effort. It was also great to work with the on-site work team and see them responding to, and interacting with the team. I still can’t get over the sight of a very small (we would say ‘dingy’) shop that seems to be a cross between a motor-bike workshop and supermarket, with a sign saying ‘Free WiFi – Internet’ – weird!!! Wayne
- Several good teams did several fulfilling tasks – road making, brick making, sewer making, wall sanding. It’s a blessing to be helpful. Win
- After a hard days work making bricks we went to McDonalds for a well deserved latte Frappe. A customer asked how come we were so dirty. I explained we were making bricks with the children at an orphanage. He replied “Thankyou”. Bill
- It is fantastic to be part of this team working to help others. I’m building up muscles I didn’t know I had doing the sanding. The Balinese workers were giving us some great hints. It was good to be working with them.Great to have a massage by the pool after our work. Rhonda
- We serve an awesome, faithful and loving God! What a privilege and blessing! We work doing varied and interesting jobs, stop at maccas for cold drink on way “home”, have a relaxing massage, swim then go out to dinner. Does life get any better than this. Praise our God. Kaye
- Meeting the children from the orphanage was amazing. Chantelle
- It was a fulfilling feeling, an odd desire to keep working hard at the orphanage – a real contrast to not being satisfied at my paid job at home. I could do this for a long long time. I feel blessed to bless the least of these in a very practical way. Courtney
- Today was a fantastic day of hard work, which is so much better than shopping. I was very impressed with the tremendous effort of the road work crew and their determination to work hard all day. Natalie, Courtney, Rachel, Win and Megan were tireless in their efforts to not only work hard all day but to get the job done well. Brett
- Getting tired. Sian
- Today we sanded cement walls with cement blocks. Roger and Tom spent the day in the sewer. It was great to see the children at the orphanage and to see how baby Karen had grown. Please pray for opportunities to share faith and for team members to be stretched in translating Sunday worship into daily faith. Viv
- It was a great day! Hard work sanding rough walls with a cement sanding block, but great team spirit. Keep praying for that. Young ones are fantastic. So was a massage before tea. Jeanette
- Today was a hard day. All day I was sanding a room but I didn’t get it finished. I’ll do it next time. Jordan
- I don’t want to hear the word “limestone” for a very long time. Natalie
- I have experienced a new job position as a builders labourer. We have been blessed with great weather to work in. Karen
- Harold wants you all to know that our team made 163 concrete bricks today. Which equates to approximately 12 bricks per blister.
Tomorrow is a rest day where we are hoping to go on a bike ride…Stayed tuned for the funny Tour de Bali…Blessings Renee
Why doesn’t Roger have a pink shirt???
Maureen
Because he was preaching and had to wear a white shirt….
Renee
I thought he would look cute in pink!!
Maureen

ps. where are rachel’s comments?! rachel! rachel! rachel! (that’s me chanting for her to make a comment!)
Trust the banker in Harold coming up with the checks and balances. Very Pleased to hear the weather has been kinder than last year’s oppressive heat and humidity. We are experiencing the coldest weather on record for July, so our prayers for some of it to go your way must be working.
Love and prayers.. Jan Reu
Renee, I agree, God is a powerful and wonderful God.
Wayne’s comment about the shop was very true. This is the contrast of Bali. Get away from the tourist area and that is how the real people of Bali live.
Harold, we will pray for your blisters.
Love, Maureen
Well done guys, doing hv proud. What courtney said brought a tear to my eye. Keep blessing the people over there as the certainly will bless you.
P.s great to hear Tom was in a sewer all day:)
Keep up the good work HVUC. Yesterday was the coldest day here for 3 years.
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Eph 4:3
We continue to pray for you. You are a blessing to us all.
